1 Little Indian

This BLOG doesn't get all my attention at times. I guess life gets busy. This shot had to be shared. You can't believe how awesome it was too see all the kids in Lucy's class all dressed up. They spent weeks working on these costumes for the holiday. GOD, it's good to be a daddy.

FINALLY, A Family Portrait

Well, Lucy's school has been requesting a family portrait for about a month. They kind of wondered why a photographer's family had so much trouble getting a portrait. It's obvious to me, if I'm the photographer and I'm part of the family, how do I both take a great photo and be in this great photo? EASY, ask the studio's assistant to press the button. Thanks Scott for not only pressing the button but for taking such a great shot.

Been a while.

It's been a few weeks since I visited the family BLOG.  What can I say?  Things have been pretty busy.  New baby, vacation, work, trips to Mexico.  OK.  Don't feel too terribly sorry for us.  We're having a great summer.  We celebrated Lucy's 2nd birthday.  That was exciting.  Ella is sleeping almost through the night.  Hurray.  And the addition to the house is just about complete thanks to our great contractor and architect.  Nice job.  Things are going well.

Studio Update

It's coming along. Not much longer to go. This is the dry-wall guy who proclaims to be the best in the South. I'll agree. Great job. AND, he beat me big time in a jalapeño eating contest. OUCH!

A budding artist.

Lucy has really taken off as an artist. Presently she prefers water colors and, well, water mixed with paint. Yum.

Ella McIntyre Carroll

It's been a busy three weeks.  Lauren, Lucy, and I welcomed the newest Carroll June 6th.  Ella Mac was born at 2:42 PM weighing in at 7 pounds even.  She was 20.5 inches long.  The last three weeks are sort of a blur but we're all doing well.  Lucy is managing the changes really well with lots of hugs and kisses for her new little sister.

Lots to update

Lots of new stuff going on at Hacienda Carroll.  This is our favorite time of the year.  We spend every minute we can out doors.  Just take a look.  1.  The pool opened.  2.  The garden is doing great.  3.  And, the studio has passed rough-in inspections.  We're so happy to share these new images.  Things continue to move forward on all fronts including Ella's due date...TODAY.  We'll see if she decides to keep us waiting or not.  Everyone take care.  We'll see you soon.  

The Long Road

We're finally nearing the end of the rough in construction to the new studio. It's been an easy path so far. This is the father/son team working out new plumbing. Top notch guys willing to get dirty. Thanks guys.

What a doll!

What can I say? This doll was a gift from Phillip and Leslie, friends of ours, to our daughter Lucy. You have to know the story. Phillip picked her up at an abandoned child care and brought it home for his dog...a Pit Bull. Hopefully Pete, the sweet Pit, doesn't decide he wants it back. We've accepted this hideous doll and now often enjoy sharing a glass of wine with her. Never liquor though. She gets mean when she drinks liquor.

The new garden.

Lauren and I just finished building our new garden. These shots show the early progress. We attached 2x10 untreated pine using angle braces and wood screws. We have a total of six separate spaces loaded with a mix of soil. I'll have more images later. This is a great way to grow your own produce and enjoy some incredible time with your family. It's a DIY project for the whole family. (I sound like a Lowe's sales person)

Breaking Ground

After a year of planning, drawing, re-drawing, changes, and drawing again the work has finally started on the expansion.

Back from weeks of travel.

After one week in Las Vegas and one week in Chicago I am so (!!!!) happy to be home. There is a real pain that develops deep inside after being away from my family for so long. Thank goodness I'm home now.

Getting Started

Let's start this BLOG with a couple of photos of me and Lauren from one of our first trips together. These are from Costa Rica. What a wonderful trip. Little did we know but this was the beginning of a whole new life for us. We'll explain later in the BLOG. Stay tuned. More to come.
